Children Learn What They Live ..........

If children live with criticism,
they learn to condemn.

If children live with hostility,
they learn to fight.

If children live with fear,
they learn to apprehensive.

If children live with pity,
they learn to feel sorry for themselves.

If children live with ridicule,
they learn to feel shy.

If children live with jealousy,
they learn to feel envy.

If children live with shame,
they learn to feel guilty.

If children live with encouragement,
they learn confidence.

If children live with tolerance,
they learn patience.

If children live with praise,
they learn appreciation.

If children live with acceptance,
they learn to love.

If children live with approval,
they learn to like themselves.

If children live with recognition,
they learn it is good to have a goal.

If children live with sharing,
they learn generosity.

If children live with honesty,
they learn truthfulness.

If children live with fairness,
they learn justice.

If children live with kindness and consideration,
they learn respect.

If children live with security,
they learn to have faith in themselves and in those about them.

If children live with friendliness,
they learn the world is a nice place in which to live.

Everything Matters ............

" Everything ends, and Everything matters. "

Everything matters not in spite of the end of you and all that you love, but because of it.

Everything is all you’ve got…and after Everything is nothing.
So you were wise to welcome Everything, the good and the bad alike, and cling to it all.
Gather it in. Seek the meaning in sorrow and don’t ever turn away, not once, from here until the end.
Because it is all the same, it is all unfathomable, and it is all infinitely preferable to the one dreadful alternative.

“Life is meaningless, when we take a life we take nothing of value.”

Life Still Has A Meaning: .........

If there is a future there is time for mending-
Time to see your troubles coming to an ending.
Life is never hopeless however great your sorrow-
If you're looking forward to a new tomorrow.
If there is time for wishing then there is time for hoping-
When through doubt and darkness you are blindly groping.
Though the heart be heavy and hurt you may be feeling-
If there is time for praying there is time for healing.

So if through your window there is a new day breaking-
Thank God for the promise, though mind and soul be aching,
If with harvest over there is grain enough for gleaning-
There is a new tomorrow and life still has meaning.

Strive ............

Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
and though they are with you, and yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love, but not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
for their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.

You may strive  to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward, nor tarries with yesterday.

Kahlil Gibran

When We Love ..............

When we love, we always strive to become better than we are.
When we strive to become better than we are,
everything around us becomes better too.

Tasting Life ...........

(Sometimes we have to learn it as we live it.)

Before the young man began his studies, he wanted assurance from the Master.

"Can you teach me the goal of human life?"

"I cannot," replied the Master.

"Or at least its meaning?"

"I cannot."

"Can you indicate to me the nature of death and of life beyond the grave?"

"I cannot."

The young man walked away in scorn. The disciples were dismayed that their Master had been shown up in a poor light.

Said the Master soothingly, "Of what is it to comprehend life's nature and life's meaning if you have never tasted it? I'd rather you ate your pudding than speculated on it."

Related Quote:

"  Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves... Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given to you because you will not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.  "

To Live Is To Learn ...........

To live is to learn,
To learn is to know,
To know is to grow,
To grow is to give,
To give is to live.

Be Happy ............

Be happy
You will grow into God's greatest blessing, His highest pride.

Be happy
Yesterday's world wants you to enjoy its surrendered breath.

Be happy
Today's world wants you to enjoy its surrendering breath.
Tomorrow's world wants you to enjoy its fulfilling breath.

Be happy
Be happy in the morning with what you have. Be happy in the evening
with what you are.

Be happy
Don't complain. Who complains? The blind beggar in you.
When you complain, you dance in the mire of ignorance-condition.
When you don't complain, all conditions of the world are at your feet,
and God gives you a new name: aspiration.
Aspiration is the supreme wealth in the world of light and delight.

Be happy
Do you want never to be poor? Then be happy.
Do you want ever to be great? Then be happy.

Be happy
You will get what you like most.
You will be what you like best.

THE INVITATION .........

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of
meeting your heart's longing.

It doesn't interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream,
for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon.
I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have
been opened by life's betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear
of further pain! I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without
moving to hide it or fade it, or fix it. I want to know if you can be with joy,
mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you
to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful,
to be realistic, to remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true.
I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can
bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul; if you can be
faithless and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see beauty even when it's not pretty, every day, and
if you can source your own life from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on
the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, "Yes!"

It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up, after the night of grief and despair, weary and
bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children.

It doesn't interest me who you know or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me
and not shrink back.

It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you, from the inside, when all else falls away.

I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like
the company you keep in the empty moments.

Powerful soul .................

Only a powerful soul can offer love.
Only a powerful soul can afford to be humble.
If we are weak, then we become selfish.
If we are empty, we take;
but if we are filled, we automatically give to all.
That is our nature.

Sincerity .........

" Sincerity is the jewel that forms in the shell of the heart...."

Sincerity is the principal thing in life. Youth is the age which is most attracted to superficiality. That is the reason why many youths adopt an artificial manner of thought, speech and action, which is very undesirable and does not benefit their life. It is important to inculcate sincerity in the character of the youth. To give a youth a love of sincerity is extremely useful, for the power of sincerity can work miracles.

Very few realize what power sincerity carries. A false man, however physically strong he is or however great is his willpower, is kept down by his falsehood; it never allows him to rise. It eats into him because it is rust. Those who have done great things in life, in whatever walk of life it be, have done them by the power of truth, the power of sincerity.

The more sincerity is developed, the greater share of truth you will have. And however much sincerity a person may have, there is always a gap to fill, for we live in the midst of falsehood, and we are always apt to be carried away by this world of falsehood. Therefore we must never think we are sincere enough, and we must always be on our guard against influences which may carry us away from that sincerity which is the bridge between ourselves and our ideal.

Touch .........

The majority of us lead quiet, unheralded lives as we pass through this world.
There will most likely be no ticker-tape parades for us, no monuments created in our honor.
But that does not lessen our possible impact, for there are scores of people waiting for someone just like us to come along; people who will appreciate our compassion, our unique talents.

Someone who will live a happier life merely because we took the time to share what we had to give.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have a potential to turn a life around. It's overwhelming to consider the continuous opportunities there are to make our love felt.

Anything Can Happen ...................

Listen to the mustn'ts
Listen to the don'ts
Listen to the shouldn'ts
the impossibles, the won'ts
Listen to the never haves
then listen closely ...
Anything can happen,
Anything can be.

Listen ..............

The only way to get what you really want,
is to know what you really want.
And the only way to know what you really want,
is to know yourself.
And the only way to know yourself,
is to be yourself.
And the only way to be yourself is to listen  to your heart.

What Will Matter ..........

Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end.

There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days. All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten will pass to someone else.

Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance. It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.

Your grudges, resentments, frustrations and jealousies will finally disappear. So too, your hopes, ambitions, plans and to do lists will expire.

The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.

It won't matter where you came from or what side of the tracks you lived on at the end.

It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant. Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.

So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured?

What will matter is not what you bought but what you built, not what you got but what you gave.

What will matter is not your success but your significance.

What will matter is not what you learned but what you taught.

What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage, or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.

What will matter is not your competence but your character.

What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone.

What will matter is not your memories but the memories that live in those who loved you.

What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.

Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident. It's not a matter of circumstance but of choice.

Choose to live a life that matters.

Afraid .............

Laugh, even when you feel too sick or too worn out or tired.
Smile, even when you're trying not to cry and the tears are blurring your vision.
Sing, even when people stare at you and tell you your voice is crappy.
Trust, even when your heart begs you not to.
Twirl, even when your mind makes no sense of what you see.
Frolick, even when you are made fun of.
Sleep, even when you're afraid of what the dreams might bring.
Run, even when it feels like you can't run any more.
Love, even you have been hurt many times

And, always, remember, even when the memories pinch your heart. Because the pain of all your experience is what makes you the person you are now. And without your experience---you are an empty page, a blank notebook, a missing lyric.

What makes you brave is your willingness to live through your terrible life and hold your head up high the next day. So don't live life in fear. Because you are stronger now, after all the crap has happened, than you ever were back before it started.

When we are Hurting inside .........

~ When we are Hurting inside ~

Our lives can often be difficult, harsh and unkind...dealing with highly emotional situations, unable to unwind.

When we are hurting inside our pain is much more intense, there are no medications to get some relief, overly active minds, unable to relax, another night without sleep.

Desperately, searching for a solution, all  we can draw are blank...becoming frustrated, falling in too deep.

Try not to be too hard on yourself and allow a rapid decline. Many of us have been there and nearly crossed the invisible line.

There is always hope, even when our lives are crumbling in a state of decay. Pry open the door of hope and let some sunlight in...the emotional pain lessens at the start of a new day.

Reach out to positive people and listen to what they say.....we all deserve to be happy and enjoy every new day.

Simple Keys to a Fuller Life ...................

What’s Best for All

The Power of Choice
Every one of us makes countless choices every day. Every choice we make has an impact on our lives. Even insignificant choices can affect what we experience and how we feel. When hunger strikes, we can reach for a healthy, nutritious snack, or we can choose the sugar high of junk food. The more important the decision, the more profound its effect. For instance, how do I act towards that person who treated me badly? Do I generally choose to be passive, or do I actively set clear intentions and create what I want in my life? Every choice we make, however big or small, affects us in some way.

How Do You Make Choices?
If you are interested in living a richer, fuller life, there is a foundation upon which you can base all of your decisions which can make life better not only for you, but also for those around you. This foundation is to choose based on what’s best for all. Imagine a world where every parent, spouse, friend, teacher, businessperson, and politician truly did their best to choose what’s best for all involved in every decision they made. We would certainly live in a more caring, supportive world.

It’s the Intention
“ But how do I know what is really best?” you might ask. The answer is simple. It doesn’t matter. What matters is not the choice you make, but rather the intention behind your choice. What matters is that whatever decision you make, you are clear in your intention of choosing based on what’s best for all. If it later turns out that you made what appears to have been a bad choice, there’s no need for guilt. Knowing that you did your best to choose with a sincere desire for what’s best for all, your conscience stays clear and open. This then allows you to more easily learn from your mistakes, and to live with a clear heart and mind.

What’s Best for Me, Too!
Choosing what’s best does not mean you have to always sacrifice yourself for others. An overly exhausted mother can lose her temper easily. Some time off for this mother might seem selfish, yet in the long run, it can help her to be a better mother to her children. So as we move through each day of our lives, let us remember to include ourselves as we do our best to choose what’s best for all.

By remembering and living these simple keys to life as you move through each day, your life is bound to grow richer and fuller. You can start each day by recommitting yourself to these keys. At difficult times during the day, or even when just resting or taking a break, you can remind yourself of one or more of these intentions. At night before sleep, give thanks for the day and ask for what's best for all who share our world.

Consider also asking family and friends who share this commitment to support and remind you in times of need. Take some time after you finish reading this to explore how you might apply these keys to current challenges in your life, and invite suggestions and feedback from others. And most importantly, open to divine guidance in digesting and integrating what you've read here.

If you are still uncertain about these keys, practice them for a while to see if your life changes for the better. If after awhile you don't see the results you'd hoped for, adapt them in a way that works for you. Consider dropping one or adding new keys of your own. Explore the possibility that living with clear intentions provides direction and focus, and can lead to a deeper, more meaningful life. In whatever way feels best to you, give yourself a chance to make your life richer and fuller.

No matter what happens, no matter what you choose to do with these keys to life and with your life in general, know that there are those of us here who continually wish you much love and all the very best in your journey through life. We love and support you in being the very best you can be every day of your life.

The Beauty of Life ...............

The beauty of life I miss when my thoughts race in an unsteady haste

Is worrying about problems the solution or is it only that I am making waste?

Taking what I have for granted instead of appreciating the good in life that awaits

Do I not take notice of the kindness others show or do I dwell on past experiences that arise which bring about the hates

Life is too short not to have fun and experience the joy of giving and sharing one's self as I awake to a brand new day

To overcome the small unimportant problems or worries that mount because of the lack of not understanding one's inner self and not applying one's faith by turning and running away

I look around and see what's before me and come to notice I have a choice either to live life to the fullest or watch it go by

Life is what you make of it and how you perceive yourself by making positive choices and decisions that you will remember and know as your time has passed that you will not have to ask yourself why?

Struggles and challenges of making a living and caring for one's self and loved ones is what most of us live for

It's the determination to make our lives more meaningful and happy as difficult as this is to achieve when we fall short of our expectations and cry out in silence of wanting more

I am a person who accepts the good with bad and glad I am healthy and alive to be able to view life as the person who I am without regret or sorrow

I live for today to know my horizon can be reached for it is my tomorrow
